A collaboration with St Helens Music Service, featuring local children and a scratch choir of local singers, who have undertaken an intense workshop weekend to learn the piece with our brilliant guest conductor, Alistair Digges. The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace has been performed nearly four hundred times in recent years while the composer Karl Jenkins recorded output has attained seventeen gold or platinum disc awards. This hugely popular work features a variety of musical influences from across the globe and is a stunning musical testimony to man’s struggle in war and adversity. This concert will also feature previous winners of the Young Musician of the year, Solomon Miles Donnelly (piano), Chris Hill (flute) and Julianna Antzcak (cello). We are delighted to welcome these outstanding young musicians back to Rainhill.
